PURPOSE:To culture aerobic bacteria which assimilate combustible gases, by culturing bacteria with a device comprising at least two culturing tanks containing combustible gases and air wherein the culturing liquid is circulated. CONSTITUTION:Combustible gases are fed to the first tank 1; air, to the second tank 2. A culturing liquid is circulated through the tanks 1 and 2 via the pump 3 or 4. The liquid is once fed to the gas separation tank 5, and the dissolved gas is separated not to form a mixture of the gases and oxygen. Aerobic bacteria assimilating combustible gases can thus be safely cultured. The device is relatively simple, and preferred in case microorganisms which assimilate the gases rapidly and can grow for a long time even in the absence of oxygen are handles.
