PURPOSE:To permit a rapid manufacture of a magnetic powder with a high square rate while preventing a sintering phenomenon during a reduction process by heating and reducing in the reduction atmosphere the powder of iron oxide before a reduction processing through drying, and filtering, after dispersing in the solution of soluble resin the above powder. CONSTITUTION:An iron oxide or iron oxide containing water, or the powder obtained by adding or doping one or more kinds of compound containing Co, Ni, Ti, Bi, Zn, Sb, and others or those metals is dispersed in the solution of soluble resin, being dried, thereafter, and is heated and reduced in a reduction atmosphere. For example, the iron oxide containing water obtained by doping Co and Cr having a specific surface of 40m<2>/g is dispersed in the 2% polyvinyl alchohol solution, being filtered and dried, thereafter, it be reduced in a mixed gas atmosphere at 400 deg.C comprising 50% of Co and 50% of H2 to obtain the magnetic powder. |
