The rear binding is for skis and grips either side of the sole of the boot. It pivots around an axle perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the ski and each side pivots independently upwards to release the boot when a predetermined force is exceeded. The grips can also pivot outwards in a plane parallel to the upper face of the ski, against a spring, to release the boot. Each side has hollows in which projections on a rod between them, operated by a spring, fit to hold the heel grip on the ski boot.
|
