PURPOSE:To improve the cooling effect of a shell, by letting cooling water flow down along the shell without disturbing the currents of cooling water flowing down on a surface of the shell by mounting projecting tilt portions to the upper and lower end surfaces of a bracket installed onto the shell of a blast furnace in a projecting shape while disposing the projecting tilt portions so that the edge lines of projecting pointed end portions upward be tilted. CONSTITUTION:Projecting tilt portions P, P' are formed to upper and lower both end surfaces in a bracket 4 mounted to a shell 3 on a blast furnace, and the bracket is installed in order that the pointed end portion edge lines l, l' upward be tilted at the angles of 30-60 deg.. Cooling water flowing down from an upper portion maintains stable laminar flows and flows down without causing turbulent flows in a lower region of the bracket by reason of the existence of the projecting tilt portions P, P' of the upper and lower end surfaces. Even if waterdrops parting from the shell are produced, and currents are changed to the shell side on the tilt portion P surface after and waterdrops collide with the projecting pointed end portions, and the waterdrops flow down along the shell 3. Thus, cooling effect is improved because all cooling water is efficiently utilized for cooling the shell. |
