The gas driven motor has liquified gas in a reservoir (R) evaporated and expanded in a cylinder (2). A chamber (10) contains a substance which undergoes a change of state to release heat to the gas. The chamber feeds heat to the cylinder (2) through a tortuous passage (11) around an outer block (9) inside the housing (7). The arrangement prevents the evaporation cooling the gas and reducing the power delivered by the motor. In practice the temperature is increased at constant pressure or the pressure is reduced at constant temperature.
