The sealing strips at the sides of the windscreen have special flanges (5) which extend over the edge of the glass to form a scoop to collect any rainwater and prevent it from being dragged over the side windows. The flange runs tangential to the glass, at a seat spacing from it. The flange is applied separately or is part of the seat trim. It is inclined to the direction of travel and is designed to min. wind noise.
