<p>The intermediate walling, esp. intermediate ceiling, is installed in a ceiling between the passenger area and a hollow space in a railway carriage. It has a ventilating slit and slit cover with perforated cover walling, and screen wall. On the side of the cover walling (15) facing the hollow space, the slit cover screen walling (13) is connected to the cover walling, and is freestanding, on one of the two longitudinal sides of the ventilating slit (8). Connection of screen wall to cover wall may be direct, or via a hinge, and the former may overlap the holes in the latter. The ventilation passage cross-section can be varied as required without difficulty by the slit cover, according to position in the vehicle or other circumstances.</p> |
