A wooden cladding tile has a portion 17 of uniform thickness at one end of the tile and at least one channel or groove 3.4 formed in the outer surface of the tile and extending from the portion 17 of uniform thickness. An outwardly facing rebate 7 formed on an edge 10 of the tile is engageable with an inwardly facing rebate 8 formed on the opposite edge 11 of a similar tile. The portion 17 of uniform thickness is intended to be overlapped by an edge 14 of another similar tile. The above construction of the tile is intended to reduce the likelihood of cracking and splitting of the wood during the lifetime of the tile as compared with known constructions of tiles. |
