<p>The process produces two blocks of lime sandstone, concrete or ceramic material, each with a fracture surface, splitting a block by two wedge shaped tools moved towards each other into two parts (12, 13) with fracture surfaces (14) complementary to each other. The blocks are delivered upright and spaced apart on a continuously running conveyor belt (19) between the tools (11). The latter are so aimed that the fracture surfaces lie in a horizontal plane. After splitting, the two blocks can be arranged to run up against a vertical stop face, where they are ejected, still upright, from the belt in the sideways direction.</p> |
