PURPOSE:To prevent of thermal break-down of a main circuit switching element of an inverter in a simple manner by normally controlling the on-period of the R switching element of the inverter over a predetermined length without requiring a synchronism of an oscillator with a distributor. CONSTITUTION:A signal of angle of rotation of a motor 1 from a distributor 5 and the output of an oscillator 6 are applied to an AND circuit 7. The output width of monostable multivibrator 11 is set longer than a period allowable for a thyristor in an inverter 2 and in the range of a period to give a sufficient turn-off time to the thyristor in the minimum period predetermined for the output of the oscillator to turn output of an AND circuit 7 to a trigger signal. The output of the AND circuit 7 and monostable multivibrator 11 is applied through an OR gate 10 to a gate control circuit 9 of the thyristor.
