<p>The gantry crane is intended for handling containers and has two winches (5) with cables (6) attached to each end of the platform (7) which supports the load. To prevent the load swaying from side to side the platform (7) is attached to the carriage of the crane by a system of links. There are four sets of links (10a, 10b, 10c) connected by pivots (11) and arranged at the corners of a rectangle. The lower links (10b, 10c) of the links telescope one inside the other and swing inwards together with the upper link (10a) as the platform (7) is raised.</p> |
