The morticing or key-way cutting accessory it used with a lathe, being incorporated on a frame which attaches to the lathe body. The frame may be of a trapezoidal channel section with an integral pedestal block (11). Four pillars (2) cantilever vertically from the inclined walls to accommodate bushes (3) for two parallel slidable round section rails (4). The tool-holder is mounted on one end of the rails. Reciprocal linear tool-holder displacements may be effected by an hydraulic motor, and the frame mounting may comprise a transversely slidable dovetail joint with micrometric screw (12) adjustment.
