<p>The mechanism allows a long vehicle with four-wheel steering to manoeuvre in confined spaces, and to behave as a normal vehicle on the straight or round slight bends. Steering of the rear wheels is delayed by a transverse bar acting on a cursor or roller unit. Movement of the cursor on its slide is obtained by turning it, its radius extending in the opposite direction to that of the bar. Adjustment of the amount of delay can be by a screw on the bar, positioning the rear steering control point in relation to the steering axis.</p> |
