Retaining system for fixing component to circuit board - has shrink-fit insulating sheath holding component against support on board

The retaining system seats the electronic component (1) e.g. a transistor, resistor, capacitor etc. on a support point (3) fixed to the circuit board (2). The component is connected to the support point by a shrink-fit sheath (4) or similar made of electrically nonconducting material. The support point may be one or more solder pins soldered into the board and acting as electrical connections between board and component. The shape of the support point conforms to the requirements of the component.
