<p>PURPOSE:To improve yield and productivity and reduce cost by providing the mechanisms of synchronizing the speeds of the first rolling mill group and slab drawing and controlling the loop quantities provided in the second rolling mill group by the specified method. CONSTITUTION:The drawing roll B and first rolling mill group D are operated and controlled at the synchronized speeds by the control mechanism consisting of an in-casting-mold molten metal level detector 6, conversion circuit 7, adder 8, drawing speed setter, etc., whereby the molten metal level in the casting mold is made constant. The specified loops E, G are provided before the second rolling mills F and third rolling mills H and are so constituted that the loop control is accomplished only when the loop quantities exceed the set range by the control mechanism consisting of operator for correction of the signals from the foregoing drawing speed setter 9, loop length detectors 14e, 14g, etc. The speed differences between the rolling mill groups D and F are absorbed by the loop E. The sagging of the loop G before the rolling mill group H will not occur.</p> |
