The connecting element is for detachably joining pref. bar-shaped scaffolding units in a gable form. Two identical halves are each fitted with sockets to accommodate a corresponding connecting element. The two halves can swivel relative to each other to provide a predetermined angle setting between two inserted structural elements. It can be fitted with fixing bolts extending in different directions to hold similar fitted structural element. The element is also suitable for stocks on which boats are laid up in winter.
