PURPOSE:To facilitate machining, assembling and maintenance works by providing retainer blocks and antifriction bearings which have mutually concave and convex spherical contact faces and are capable of adjusting position deviations of screws on the end positions of the screw-down screws of the rolling mill. CONSTITUTION:In the constitution of moving the roll 1 installed to metal chocks 2, 3 by means of screw-down screws 4 in the horizontal direction, the bearings 15 each consisting of a roller 17, stationary ring 16 and rolling ring 18 are provided to the end positions of upper and lower screw-down screws 4 and the retainer blocks 22 formed of the mutually concave and convex faces with the revolving ring 18 are provided between said bearings and the screw-down screws 4. The rolling rings 18 are supported by springs 19, etc., by which the position deviations with the screws 4 are adjusted. Since the rolling rings 18 and retainer blocks 22 always contact at faces, the rollers 17 receive load evenly over the entire surface and since the contact of the blocks 22 and screws 4 is plane, they are not mutually restrained in position. Since they may be withdrawn at the roll changing, their maintenance is easy. |
