PURPOSE:To improve the thickness accuracy in the width direction of rolling material through simple operation by providing the special roll moving devices consisting of brackets, sliders, etc. by being coupled to metal chock on the operation side of axially movable rolls CONSTITUTION:Metal chock 11 which support the intermediate rolls 5, 6 of the rolling mill movably and rotatably in the opposite directions along the vertical directions and respective axial directions are coupled to the screws 24 as the axial moving devices by way of sliders 22 and the sliders 22 are contained axially slidably and movably in the vertical directions integrally with the brackets 23 in the brackets 23 which are detained of the axial movements with respect to the roll housing 2 and are vertically movable. The screw 24 is rotated to move the roll 5 in the specified axial direction, thence the nut 25 is retightened. The movement adjustment of the roll 5 may be accomplished by the simple operation and the need for intricate and costly mechanisms for the thickness control in the width direction of rolling material with conventional methods is eliminated. |
