The pipe coupling is particularly intended for an underpressure drilling device for gas or water pipelines and comprises two pipe ends secured by a cap nut. The socket end of the pipe has radial openings contg. movable clamping elements e.g. balls. The spigot end of the pipe has radial recesses to receive the radially inner portions of the elements. The nut, which is screwed on to te socket end has an inner conical wall portion facing the radially outer portions of the elements. The radial openings may have an inwardly converging cross-section.
