The overhanging arm crane actuated hydraulically, has its arm (4) pivoted on a vertical column (3) whose base is held on a frame (2) supported on wheels on the ground. Variation of the force acting on the lifting actuator resulting from the lifting direction is largely avoided. The hook arm (10) on the overhanging arm end has a support (12, 13) resting against the overhanging arm. This support is designed so that the hook arm is supported in the overhanging arm position above the horizontal position and rests at the top against the overhanging arm. The support has a strut (12) fixed on the arm and running at an angle upwards in the direction of the overhanging arm.
