The exercising device is for the active and passive movement of parts of the human body, having a reversible motor driving a winch drum, with an attachment at the end of the rope for suspension of the part to be moved, and a motor reversing switch. The switch (24) is actuated by a lever (25) pivoting at one end and coupled at the other by a rope to a drum (27) likewise driven by the motor (20). When this rope (26) is fully unwound from the drum the lever is clear of the switch. An adjustment (56) can be provided for the switch in relation to the lever.
