The deformation element consists of a plastically deformable tubular piece (1) which has at least one rigid stop-piece (3) facing one end of the deformation piece (1). The stop piece has an inversion section (2) which continuously re-inverts the deformation piece. A tie connection joins the deformation piece and the stop piece and contains at least one back-tapered section (4) joined to the stop-piece. The end of the deformation piece, before being inverted protrudes radially with a radially deformable part (5) into the back-tapered section (4). ADVANTAGE - The inversion section causes the deformation piece to be re-inverted, when the deformation piece is subjected to a set axial compressive stress.
