<p>PURPOSE: To utilize a bitting region for keys having different formed shapes, to improve the stability of key operation, and then, to improve the abrasion- resistance of the bitting region by forming the bitting region in a cylindrical shape having a circular cross section and making the biting region broader in width than a profile region and lower in height than the profile region in the radial direction. CONSTITUTION: A key for cylinder lock is provided with a profile region 2 in which different grooves are formed and a bitting region 5 in which bitting recesses 6 are arranged correspondingly to a tumbler member. The bitting region 5 is formed in a cylindrical shape having a circular cross section so that the width of the region 5 may become broader than that of the profile region 2 and the height (h) of the region 5 may become lower than that H of the region 2 in the radial direction. Then side flanks 2' having longitudinal profile grooves 3 in the profile region 2 are extended in parallel with each other and the bitting region 2 is laterally protruded from each flank 2'. Therefore, many bitting recesses 6 can be formed and, in addition, the bitting region 5 can be stabilized when the key is operated. At the same time, the abrasion resistance of the region 5 can be improved.</p> |
