Battery electrolyte level maintaining automatic device - has pump transferring water vapour from top of vaporiser into cells

The level-maintaining system keeps the level of electrolyte in a battery constant by introducing water vapour into each cell of the battery using a pump and vaporiser or humidifier. The pump (8) transfers water vapour from the top of the vaporiser (7) into the cells via channels (5) that extend down into the cells to the wanted level of the electrolyte. Return channels (3, 4) are provided and lead back to the vaporiser. When the level of electrolyte in any cell (1) is below the end of the channel (5) extending into the cell, vapour is introduced into that cell by the pump. When the level covers the end of the channel transportation of vapour stops automatically. The water in the vaporiser is heated to raise its pressure above that of the cells.
