<p>An umbrella comprises a top covering (1) held on a collapsible frame of thin ribs radiating from the top of a carrying stick or handle (4). The covering consists of a single-layer synthetic resin plastics film (3) containing a perfume emitting substance. This provides a perfume-laden atmosphere when the umbrella is open. The covering may have a second upper layer (2) of low gas permeability, the film having high gas permeability. The inner layer may be PVC or polyester, the outer layer of PVC containing lower percentage plasticizer than the inner layer.</p> |
