<p>NEW MATERIAL:A quinoline derivative of formula I: (R <1> is lower alkyl or phenyl group; R<2> and R<3> are lower alkyl or cycloalkyl groups), and its acid addition salt. EXAMPLE:2-Acetoxy-6-[3-(N-methyl-N-cyclohexylaminocarbonyl)propoxy]qui noline. USE:Useful as remedies for bronchial asthma, arteriosclerosis, diabetes, and hypertension, and as preventive remedies for thrombosis, having good absorption and prolonged duration. PROCESS:A carbostyril derivative of formula II is reacted with an acid halide of formula III: (X is halogen) or an acid anhydride of formula IV to give the compound of formula I. The compound of formula II is novel and can be obtained by reacting a carboxyalkoxycarbostyril derivative of formula V with an amine to form an amide linkage.</p> |
