PURPOSE:To increase the working efficiency for the transaction device by continuing transaction for the dealable transaction subject via the fault-free unit in case the function fault occurs at the partial unit. CONSTITUTION:The magnetic card or the like capable of specifying the account numbers of the user is accepted to the automatic transaction device, and plural transaction subjects including the cash transaction are displayed on the display part. Then the fault is detected for each transaction unit via fault detectors 76-79. And discriminator 75 decides whether the whole device or the specified transaction subject is stopped via detectors 76-79. As a result, the transaction can be continued for the dealable transaction subject via the unit having no fault, thus increasing the working efficiency.
