PURPOSE:To set the refeeding of an original to be the irreducible minimum so as to set the damage to be a minimum by resuming a copying operation without discharging the original when the copying operation can be resumed even if the return and the refeeding of the original are not executed. CONSTITUTION:Image data from an image reader part 1 is stored in a memory. The quantity of image data which can be stored is previously decided. A printer part 50 reads image data of the memory and forms it on copying paper. An automatic original feeding device 30 transports the original of an original feeding tray 32, and discharges the original to a discharge tray 33 when image data is read in the read part 1. When the jam of copying paper occurs in an image mapping means at that time, it is judged whether image data whose copying is not completed remains in the memory or not based on a discharge paper detection result. When it does not remain, the original in an original transportation path is discharged to the tray 33, and the number of the originals to be returned to the tray 32 is displayed. When it remains, image data is used and the copying operation is resumed. |
