The measurement emitter unit which permanently monitors a mothr and child during birth, has a capsule mounted on the lower part of the mother's body. The capsule (10) contains an emitter (16) transmitting the data relating to the state of the mother and/or the child. A power supply for the emitter can also be housed inside the capsule. The data measured can include foetal and mother's electrocardiograms, foetal heartbeat, contractions mother's respiration and skin temperature, location of foetal heart valves (this also allowing the unit to be placed in the best position), movements of the child and foetal thoracic movements.
