At the end faces of the stator core (8), pressplates (9) are mounted which carry one bracket (10) each and one conical ring (1) of insulating material each, at the conical inside surfaces (3) of which the winding overhangs of the winding are attached. The ring also has a cylindrical outside surface (2). Each bracket (10) is constructed in the form of a ring which is concentric with the conical insulating ring (1). Between the bracket (10) and the cylindrical outside surface (2) of the conical insulating ring (1), an elastic intermediate layer (12) is inserted over the entire circumference. This arrangement provides for a stable rigid connection of the winding overhangs to the pressplate of the core in the radial direction, with the possibility of achieving an axial displacement of the winding overhangs with respect to the pressplate. <IMAGE>
