<p>The gun has a barrel, a firing chamber closed by a breech block, a percussive firing mechanism behind the firing chamber and a magazine assembly which can transfer one cartridge at a time into the firing chamber. The barrel, which has a breech at the back into which a cartridge can be loaded is pivotally mounted on the stock behind the breech. The axis of the pivot is parallel to the axis of the barrel. At one end of the pivotal movement, the barrel axis is aligned with a magazine passage. At the other end of the pivotal movement, the barrel is brought to the firing position with a breeched cartridge aligned with the firing pin. The barrel can be locked in the firing position. The guncan also be used as a stud gun for driving metal studs in foundations, structures, etc. Semi-automatic feed of cartridges from the magazine is provided. The gun is robust, easy to use and inexpensive to make. It cannot be fired until the barrel is locked back agains the breech block.</p> |
