<p>Belt filter plant for liquids consists of an endless, permeable conveyor belt which is driven round two drive rollers and onto which a band of filter material is fed continuously from a feed roll. This rests on one of the drive rolls and is rotated by the friction caused by its own weight, the belt picking up the filter material. The roll is supported without bearings in guides which run radially from the axis of the drive rolls. Used for filtering solids from liquids. By rolling on the belt, there is not problem of the tensile strength of the material and the likelihood of tearing as with systems where the material is pulled from a roll mounted in bearings.</p> |
