NEW MATERIAL:A compound of formula I (n is 0, 1). EXAMPLE:Protocatechuic acid, gentisic acid, beta-resorcylic acid, and homogentisic acid. USE:Agent for suppressing the fibrosis of animal tissue, and useful as a preventive and remedy for hepatocirrhosis, arteriosclerosis, etc. PROCESS:Embryo of the chick is homogenized together with a NaCl-Glycine-Tris- HCl buffer solution containing 0.1% of Triton X-100, and centrifuged. The supernatant liquid is added with ammonium sulfate, the precipitate is dissolved in a buffer solution, dialyzed, and again precipitated by adding calcium phosphate gel. Enzymes are extracted from the precipitate with a phosphoric acid buffer solution, and the extract is fractionated by DEAE-cellulose column chromatography. |
