<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To allow a sender side of the packet communication system, where the sender side and a receiver side are connected via a telephone line, to receive an affirmative acknowledgement and a negative acknowledgement returned from the receiver side with high accuracy. SOLUTION: In the packet communication system, a receiver side returns an affirmative acknowledgement code with a structure where three 1-byte ACK codes are sandwiched between two 1-byte dummy codes to a sender side when the receiver side receives a packet normally. When the packet sender side has received consecutively-two-byte of ACK codes, the sender side discriminates the reception of the affirmative acknowledgement. Furthermore, when the receiver side cannot normally receive the packet, the receiver side returns a negative acknowledgement code with a structure where three 1-byte NAK codes are sandwiched between two 1-byte dummy codes to the sender side. When the packet sender side receives consecutively two-byte of NAK codes, the sender side discriminates the reception of the negative acknowledgement.</p> |
