<p>The change-speed transmission system is particularly for a bicycle. It has a disc rotated by a pedal shaft and with a series of radial slots (6), in which pinions (1) slide. A plate is fixed to a frame inside the disc and has a slide mounted on the outside of it, there being an annular component fixed to the slide with gear teeth (20) formed in a rib (19) extending round the periphery. An annulus round the component has both internal and external teeth. The pinions slide freely in the slots between component and annulus, meshing with both, the circle which they describe being made eccentric from the pedal shaft by movement of the slide, and thus varying the velocity ratio.</p> |
