<p>The tipping lorry body is for arigid vehicle or a semi-trailer, having a flat bottom and sidewalls supported by reinforcing columns. The sidewalls are of sheet metal, shaped to form lengthwise ribs (7). They can be cold-shaped, and can have a lengthwise box-girder (10) along the top of each. Each sidewall can be in one piece, or formed by several welded together along lengthwise seams. The columns (8) can be of sheet metal folded into a U-shape, the flanges being cut away so as to fit round the ribs.</p> |
