<p>A hand tool for the application and crimping of straps around packages consists of a housing which is an injection moulding, made of plastic, pref. glass fibre reinforced Ultraamide (RTM), with an open end closed by a cover. The opposite end is strengthened by a boss in which the press plunger is guided. A horizontal rib at a distance from this boss is used to fix the abutment of the crimping device and the strap clamping attachment. This creates a lightweight tool which can nevertheless withstand the very high stress caused by its operations.</p> |
