PURPOSE:To reduce the amount of metallic soap, and to lower the processing temperature of a mineral oil grease containing a metallic soap as a thickner, by adding a polyoxyalkylene compound. CONSTITUTION:In a mineral oil grease containing a metallic soap such as lithium salt of 12-hydroxystearic acid as a thickner, a part of the metallic soap is substituted by a linear or cyclic organic compound having a polyalkylene oxide group of the formula (n is 2-5; m>=2) in the molecule. The alkylene oxide group-containing compound is, e.g. polyoxyethylene nonyl phenyl ether (m = 30), 18-crown-6, etc., and its amount is >= 0.01 wt%, pref. 0.05-10 wt%, based on the grease composition. |
