PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high performance activated carbon using a hardened phenol resin, which is known to be difficult to be recycled. SOLUTION: The nearly spherical or rice grain like activated carbon is manufactured by using waste generated in the manufacturing process or using process of a phenol resin compound or a phenol resin laminated plate as a raw material, pulverizing and after working into a spherical or rice grain-like shape, carbonizing and activating.
