A grinding material for wet grinding comprises a granular abrasive and a hard, plastic material formed from a hardenable plastic containing bonding material, said hard plastic material having the granules embedded therein and having a water absorption capacity. The hardenable bonding material may be selected from polyester resins, epoxy resins, polyurethanes and polyisocyanates and the hard plastic material may have a water absorption capacity of at least 0.5% by weight at temperatures of about 300 DEG K. The hardenable bonding material is also claimed. The grinding material may be formed into a grinding wheel. |
