PURPOSE:To stably retain a mordant image and fix it and to inhibit decomposition, chemical change, etc. of the image due to light, by adding a specified polymer mordant to form a color diffusion transfer photographic element. CONSTITUTION:A polymer of general formula I [ A is a monomer unit having 2 or more ethylenically unsaturated groups (e.g. divinylbenzene); B is an ethylenically unsaturated monomer unit (e.g. cyclohexyl methacrylate); R1 is H or 1 to 6 C alkyl; Q is a 1 to 2 C divalent group; R2-4 are 1 to 20 C alkyl or 7 to 20 C aralkyl (may form a ring together with N); X is an anion; x is about 0.25 to 10 mole %; y is about 90 mole %; and Z is about 10 to 99 mole %], for example formula II (x:y:z=4:48:48) is used for a mordant. |
