Storage assembly for warehouse - has row of units separable to form gangways and mobile unit movable into gangways

The storage assembly has a row of storage units, which are movable in either direction so that a gangway (7) can be opened between any two adjacent units in the row. A mobile unit (14) is movable along an access gangway (15) extending the length of the row at one side so that it can be positioned to enter any selected gangway between two adjacent storage units. The mobile unit is movable along each selected gangway to deposit goods in and retrieve goods from the units. The mobile unit is supported clear of the floor in each selected gangways by guides (22) on the opposite faces of the adjacent storage units.
