PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an immersion nozzle with which remaining molten steel to a gate hole is not made to flow out from a gap between an ejected immersion nozzle and a reinforced iron shell of a fitting immersion nozzle head. SOLUTION: A nozzle exchange is performed at one series of movement, in which the lower surface 5b of the head 5 of the new immersion nozzle 1, is supported with a slide guide 12 and waited and the eject and the fit are horizontally moved in the fixed direction. The nozzle exchange is performed by lowering a push-up arm 14 after closing a slide gate nozzle 13, and supporting the immersion nozzle 1 on the slide gate 12. Then, the ejected immersion nozzle 1 and the fitted immersion nozzle 1 are simultaneously and horizontally moved and so, the remaining molten steel stuck on the gate hole 13b in a lower plate 13a of the slide gate 13, is made to flow into a flowing recessed part 6 formed on the upper surface 5a of the head 5 in the ejected immersion nozzle 1 from the lower surface of the slide gate 13. The remaining molten steel is not made to flow down between the ejected immersion nozzle 1 and the reinforced iron shell 7 of the head 5 in the inserting immersion nozzle 1.
