The data transmission system has the binary states of its data described by two frequencies that experience no phase jump when the binary state changes. The amplitude of the lower frequency is less than the amplitude of the upper frequency to reduce distortion. The amplitude of the upper frequency is 15 to 2 times (pre. 1.8 times) the amplitude of the lower frequency. A sinusoidal signal is asigned to the binary states. One binary state has 2n half waves associated with it and the other has half waves. The phase angles of the half waves at the end of each bit and the phase angles at the start of the next bit are equal.
