Radial piston oil pump for servo system - has axial passages with non-return valves opening into discharge chamber

The pump has an eccentric (5) on a shaft (4) supported in two bearing caps (1, 11) which form a stator. An outer case (3) surrounds the stator and forms a discharge chamber (21) round part of it. Pistons (6) reciprocate in radial cylinders (7) in one bearing cap (1) and repressed against the eccentric by springs (10) which bear on the outer case. An oul inlet (9) leads to an annular chamber (14) from which ports (15) in the pistons admit oil. The discharge ports of the pistons communicate in turn with axial passages (18) in the stator. There is a ball type non return valve (20) at the end of each passage opening into the discharge chamber (21).
