Drive arrangement for a sliding door leaf 1 of a vehicle, comprises a rod 3 engaged by a pneumatic or hydraulic drive 10 by means of a drive joint 11. The rod is guided at one end by means of a support joint 4 and at the other end by means of a connecting joint 9 mounted directly or indirectly on the door leaf. The support joint is connected to a guide 5, 6 whereby its path of movement lies in a plane which is normal or approximately normal to the direction of sliding movement of the door leaf.
