PURPOSE:To enable a circuit of relatively-simple constitution to equalize the delay distortion of a transmission line automatically, by determining the coefficient of a transversal filter by the output of a shift register in the order of the inversion of impulse-response samples on the time axis. CONSTITUTION:Differentiator 1 estimates the impulse response of a transmission line from an input phase-synchronizing signal from terminal 15 and the estimated impulse response is stored in shift registers 2 to 5. Then, the transversal filter composed of circuits 6 to 14 filters a picture signal and makes a decision on the coefficient of the transversal filter in the order of the inversion of impulse response sampled values on the time axis by the outputs of registers 2 to 5. Consequently, the delay distortion of the transmission line can automatically be equalized by using a simply-constituted circuit. |
