HV overhead transmission lines suspension on pylons - uses protective fittings at insulating chain ends, with weights serving as inertia buffers

The pylons have suspension brackets. The suspension has two parallel insulator chains attached to the brackets; a tensioning yoke and a triangular tie between the tensioning yoke and the insulator chains (4). The triangular tie is hinged at its corners (6, 8) to the yoke and to the insulator chains provided at their ends with rigid protective fittings. Tie protective fittings (11) also serve at inertia buffes and are provided for this purpose with weights at least equal to about half the weight of the corresponding insulator chain.
