<p>The pneumatic actuator is for a tyre fitting and removal machine. On the spindle of the clamping mechanism is a first mechanism driven by a pneumatic ram in either direction. A second mechanism is coupled to the spindle and is driven only in one direction by the first mechanism directly. A third mechanism can be connected between the first and second ones to drive the latter in the opposite direction, and is controlled by a fourth one. The first and second mechanisms can be formed by a freewheel coupling, one ring of which is coupled to the actuating ram, and the second to the clamping mechanism driving spindle.</p> |
