The proposed method of digital air photography implies the survey of the territory by a digital video camera, from an aircraft, with the following processing of the survey results and mapping of the territory. The method is distinctive by accomplishing the frame-by-frame scanning of the territory with discrete displacement of the video camera in the direction that is perpendicular to the direction of the movement of the aircraft, with consideration for overlapping of the territory areas, and generating, in the scanning process, vibrations of the image that are recorded by the video camera by an ultrasonic signal acting on the elements of the optical system of the video camera for the purpose to compensate the image distortions that are caused by the displacement of the video camera and movement of the aircraft. The survey of the territory area is accomplished at the time interval within which the maximal compensation of the said distortions is provided.
